Rental Terms
All car rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement that you will receive upon booking confirmation or when collecting your vehicle. This agreement outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance information, fees, and your obligations related to the rental. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Requirements for Vehicle Rental
- To rent a vehicle from Redbridge Car Hire, you must be at least 21 years old, though age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle type, with potential extra fees for drivers under 25. You need a valid driving license suitable for the vehicle category, held for the duration specified in the Rental Agreement. Valid identification and proof of your current address are required. Payment information and a security deposit must be provided, along with any other conditions outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Terms
- Reservations can be arranged via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Redbridge location. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining payment and security deposit are generally payable upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, ensuring secure processing through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pick-Up and Drop-Off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be created and signed by both parties. The vehicle should be returned in the same condition as it was received, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and costs will be applied as necessary. Please return the vehicle with the same fuel level as at the start of the rental; refueling charges will be incurred if the fuel level is lower. Late returns may result in extra fees, so it is advisable to inform us as soon as possible if you expect to return the vehicle late. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges that arise during the rental, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Responsibility
- All rentals through Redbridge include basic third-party insurance. You can find comprehensive details about coverage and excess amounts in your Rental Agreement. There are options for additional insurance that may lower your financial liability. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount unless additional insurance is purchased. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms will also be your responsibility, regardless of insurance coverage.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies depend on the type of booking and the notice provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows could incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited vehicle uses:
- The vehicle must not be used for any unlawful activities or purposes. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or other risky endeavors. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Additionally, using the vehicle beyond its intended purpose, exceeding passenger or weight limits, or operating outside designated geographical areas without prior approval is not permitted.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Redbridge Car Hire will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount paid for your rental in the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts in this region.
10. Updates to Terms
Redbridge Car Hire reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting on our website. Continued use of our services signifies acceptance of the revised Terms.
